Today, the largest employer is the Town itself while many residents work in Amherst at UMASS.
Rattlesnake Gutter, a boulder-filled chasm, is the town’s most famous geological feature. It sits along a short section of the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail. Other areas of interest in Leverett include Bushy Mountain, Beaver Pond Conservation Area, Doolittle Brook Conservation Area, 4-H Forest Conservation Area, and Leverett Pond.
